WaterCAP

Water Management in a Changing Climate, Adaptation to New Conditions and Promotion of New Strategies

The overall theme of WaterCAP is climate change and its effects on the hydrological cycle in the North Sea Region and how we can deal with the challenges to our society and natural habitat.

WaterCAP is a cluster project of the following six North Sea Region projects:
Aquarius, CLIWAT, CPA, C2C islands, DiPol and SAWA.

The cluster project will synthesize and reshape the results of these projects with regard to their relevance for the European policy level. The main focus will be on issues related to water quantity/quality, impact analysis and adaptation strategies.

The aim of the cluster project is to add value to the existing projects through sharing and building knowledge. This knowledge will be communicated as a substantive block of evidence to inform policy makers in order to ‘climate proof’ relevant present and future directives and guidelines and their implementation.

This project is sponsored by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) INTERREG IV B North Sea Region Programme.

Seeconsult’s responsibility in WaterCAP lies with the design and implementation of the interface between the European policy level (including key stakeholders from the European Commission and other governmental and non-governmental interest groups) and the InterReg projects. This includes expert interviews, a key stakeholder workshop, as well as the design and support of thematic workshops in which project partners from InterReg projects will bring their results closer to the needs of the European policy level.
