ACCESSanitation
Overall objective of the ACCESS project is to enable local authorities to promote and initiate sustainable sanitation solutions thus improving health conditions, alleviating poverty and fostering the local economy.
In five cities in India and five in the Philippines action plans are developed to identify more sustainable sanitation solutions. The plans are generated through peer-to-peer exchange and the continuous provision of tailor-made training and coaching for the participating cities. By the end of the project each city should have implemented at least one selected pilot activity.
ACCESSanitation is also promoting sustainable urban sanitation on a larger scale through the transfer of good practice elsewhere in the target countries as well as from and to cities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
ACCESSanitation - Accelerating City to City Exchange for Sustainable Sanitation is an EU-funded project and is running untill end of 2012.
More information is available on the project page.
